Liquid-cooled unit spray cleaning, long-term condensation in the machine room, cooling liquid splashing, and high-pressure flushing of pipelines are typical wet spraying conditions. Under these conditions, ordinary transmitters are prone to water ingress short circuits, condensation drift in the circuit, and diaphragm corrosion failure. For long-term stable operation, a three-tier protection system consisting of high waterproof selection of the instrument body, standardized installation protection, and moisture-proof operation and maintenance management is required. The Longlu PTL501F, with its original IP68 fully waterproof structure and supporting protective measures, can completely solve the problem of instrument failure in wet spraying environments.

1、 Pain points of instrument damage caused by wet working conditions of liquid cooling spray
Spray water and condensed water vapor infiltrate the shell: cleaning water guns, circulating coolant splashes, and large amounts of condensation are generated due to temperature differences between day and night, which enters through wiring gaps and shell joints, causing circuit board short circuits and burnout.
Cable siphon inlet: The cable is vertically connected to the meter head, and the accumulated water flows back into the instrument through the capillary gaps inside the cable.
Long term damp corrosion of seals: The coolant contains corrosion inhibiting ions, which can cause long-term immersion of rubber rings and welds, leading to aging and cracking of seals, and rapid deterioration of waterproof performance.
Internal condensation causes measurement drift: The temperature difference in the sealed chamber forms water vapor condensation, which attaches to the sensing element. The pressure value continues to fluctuate and the zero point shifts, resulting in frequent false alarms.
2、 First layer of protection: Select original high waterproof structural instruments (core foundation, PTL501F innate protection advantage)
To cope with continuous spraying and high condensation environments, the basic IP65 instrument cannot meet the requirements, and an IP68 fully immersed protection model must be selected. Integrated stainless steel laser welding shell
The whole machine has no splicing screw gaps, and the shell is welded as a whole, without any channels for rainwater or spray water to infiltrate the shell; The 304 stainless steel shell is resistant to slight corrosion by coolant, and the welds will not rust or crack if they are wet for a long time.
Integrated waterproof outlet seal at the tail
Different from ordinary split aviation plugs, PTL501F adopts a cable and header integrated sealing process, with all internal circuit boards sealed and filled with epoxy resin. Standard 316L flat membrane, without small pressure chambers. During spray flushing, coolant impurities will not accumulate on the membrane surface, avoiding accelerated corrosion caused by medium adhesion and reducing local moisture caused by residual water accumulation.
3、 Second layer of protection: Standardized installation and construction to eliminate human made waterproof loopholes
Even if an IP68 waterproof transmitter is selected, improper installation can still cause water to enter. The liquid cooling spray working condition must follow the following installation protection specifications:
1. Instrument installation posture specification
The electrical outlet of the transmitter is installed with a downward tilt to prevent spray water from flowing into the outlet interface along the cable; It is prohibited to install the header facing up and the cable hanging upside down to avoid water accumulation at the wiring area and siphon water ingress.
2. Add drip bend protection to the cable
When laying cables, a downward U-shaped drip bend should be reserved, and the accumulated water and condensed water will drip down along the lowest point of the bend instead of flowing into the interior of the instrument along the cable; Shielded cables are equipped with waterproof locking glands, and gaps are filled with waterproof sealing adhesive to seal.
3. Install an external rainproof and anti spray protective cover
Frequent spraying, water gun flushing points, additionally equipped with arc-shaped stainless steel rain cover, the cover body is inclined at more than 30 degrees, the edge extension covers the instrument head, blocking the direct impact of high-pressure water flow on the instrument housing, and does not cover the diaphragm pressure collection area.
4. Lift up the installation and stay away from areas with accumulated water
The installation height of the instrument should avoid the water accumulation area of the pipeline spray, stay away from the ground and low-lying points at the bottom of the cabinet, and prevent the instrument threads and outlet ends from being soaked by cleaning water.
5. Threaded interface auxiliary sealing
Wrap water-resistant tape around the threaded connection between the transmitter and the pipeline, and use a moisture resistant sealing gasket to prevent coolant from penetrating through the threaded gaps and corroding the instrument base.
4、 Third layer of protection: Internal anti condensation treatment to solve the problem of temperature difference condensation
The liquid cooling machine room has a large temperature difference between day and night, and even if there is no water entering from the outside, condensation will still occur due to the alternating cold and hot inside the chamber. Two moisture-proof measures are provided:
Regularly power on to drive moisture
During the shutdown and maintenance phase of the unit, maintain 24V power supply to the transmitter, generate trace heat during circuit operation, and suppress condensation of water vapor inside the chamber; Remove the instrument and store it in a dry warehouse during long-term shutdown.
Batch measurement point matching sealed junction box
Multiple transmitters are arranged in a centralized area, and waterproof junction boxes with drainage holes are uniformly installed. Desiccant packs are placed inside the boxes, and drainage holes are reserved at the bottom of the boxes to timely drain condensed water inside the boxes and prevent cable joints from being affected by moisture and oxidation.
Choose models with waterproof and breathable structure
Balance the internal and external air pressure of the instrument, and avoid inhaling humid air due to negative pressure when the temperature difference changes, reducing condensation generation from the inside.
5、 Fourth layer of protection: Periodic operation and maintenance to extend the waterproof service life
Monthly appearance inspection
Check for any signs of water leakage at the welds and outlet seals of the shell, promptly clean up any accumulated water inside the rain cover, and inspect the sealing gasket for aging, cracking, or whitening.
Quarterly cleaning and maintenance
After the spraying operation, wipe the surface of the instrument casing and diaphragm with a dry cloth to clean up any coolant residue and scale accumulation, and prevent scale from corroding the sealing gap.
Annual sealing performance re inspection
After stopping the machine and releasing pressure, check the sealing of the cables and output terminals. If the sealant hardens or seeps, replace the matching waterproof cable components in a timely manner.
Cleaning operation protection
When using a high-pressure water gun to flush equipment, try to avoid the front of the instrument head and reduce the amount of water flowing directly into the sealed part of the outlet.
