The commonly used pressure-swing adsorption technology for nitrogen generators is mainly based on the adsorbent. The weighing sensor plays a role in the management of the adsorbent, mainly from three aspects: monitoring the state of the adsorbent, evaluating its lifespan, and timely replacement.
In the state monitoring stage, through the weighing sensor installed at the bottom of the adsorption tower, the weight of the adsorbent in the adsorption tower can be monitored in real time. During the operation of the nitrogen generator, the weight of the adsorbent will change due to the adsorption of impurities. Under normal circumstances, the adsorbent's adsorption of impurities is stable, and the weight change shows a specific pattern. Once the adsorbent is powdery or lost, the weight monitored by the weighing sensor will fluctuate abnormally, and the system can detect it in time.
In terms of life assessment, based on the weight change of the adsorbent during each adsorption and desorption process, combined with the running time and processing gas volume of the nitrogen generator, the algorithm can accurately assess the life of the adsorbent. By long-term recording and analyzing these data, the replacement cycle of the adsorbent can be planned in advance.
When the adsorbent reaches its service life or needs to be replaced for other reasons, the weight sensor provides weight data, which can help the staff accurately grasp the remaining amount of the adsorbent, so as to prepare the appropriate amount of new adsorbent, avoiding the waste of resources and poor nitrogen production caused by insufficient or excessive adsorbent.
